Music Review: James Morrison

Name: James Morrison
Genre: Pop Rock, Adult Contemporary, pop, soul, alternative, soul rock
Age: 23
Place of birth: Rugby, Warwickshire, England.

James Morrison

Now why does that name ring a bell? well it could be for one of two reasons. the first reason is that the family name “Morrison” is surgically attached in our heads to the “The Doors” lead man Jim Morrison or even the Northern Irish singer/songwriter Van Morrison. the second reason might be because of his song “You Give me Something” released as his first debut in 2006.

James Morrison has definitely received tremendous welcome from his home crowd and his acceptance and admiration grew to proportional levels once his album “Undiscovered” was released with over 2.4 million copies sold world wide. Covering a wide variety of musical styles; though with the same feel, one would expect James to be somewhere in his late twenties to mid thirties. much to my surprise, i found out that he’s almost as old as i am. 23 years of age. that’s something for certain.

not only does James possess an exceptional quality of voice, but his words and compositions are becoming an inspiration to many of his listeners. with songs like “if the rain must fall” and “The last goodbye” from his sole album , he is bound to make rock enthusiasts shiver with soul! his lyrics are not to be taken lightly and so are his power chords and piano melodies.

James is currently on tour with the one and only John Mayor! come to think of it, if you like one, you’d definitely like the other! to learn more about his tour with John you can check out his myspace blog entry here. Did i hear you say you’d like to Listen to some of his music before buying the album?

surprisingly, he accounts his beautiful voice to a severe case of whooping cough he went through as a baby that almost killed him. well i don’t know about you guys, but I’m sure glad that a near death experience can result in such a wonderful talent.

Jordan Pulse Rating: 4.0/5.0
World Rating “Based on Amazon.com Rating”: 4.5/5.0
Sounds like: He’s pretty unique in my book, but he does kinda sound like paulo nutini dubbed over John Mayor, maybe the other way around. who cares? he sounds awesome.

    Hi,

My name is 3awwad. I am a typical Jordanian citizen. You can call me “Monsieur Tout le monde” if you like. Excuse my low intelligence quotient, but since this is a Jordanian website representing Jordanians, i believe that you should put reviews for Jordanian singers instead like Omar Abdullat and Met3eb Elsaggar.

    Thank you

    Hi,

Excuse my low intelligence quotient, but i tried to comment on this entry and you deleted my comment. I believe that this is not nice of you, since my request was true Jordanians one. If you don’t like Omar Abdullat or Met3eb Saggar, then you better start questioning your true jordanianizm.

I hope you publish my comment and not delete it.
